Ruined my hair

The raw shea butter shampoo and conditioner has completely ruined my hair. I just recently got into nice hair care and the importance of using the right products, I’d heard really good things so I thought I’d try, but after two washes (I wash my hair once a week) my hair was shedding in the shower which is something I’ve never ever had before. I didn’t think much of it and assumed it was normal but after weeks of this happening I decided it was time to change my shampoo and conditioner. I now have the driest most brittle hair which sheds all the time, wet or dry, it just looks lifeless and completely damaged and so so dry, I really have no idea how to save it from here everything I try seems to do nothing, I understand shampoos work differently on different hair but it definitely shouldn’t dry out my hair to this extent, so so upsetting.

Induced Hair Loss

I'm not sure why Shea Moisture has this effect on my hair... It makes it soft and hydrated, but causes balding if used for a long period of time (or at least in my case). My 3b/3a hair falls out with each wash or if detangling when using this product. It doesn't matter what line I use from the brand. I even make sure to use a clarifying shampoo every other week. Shea Moisture is NOT THE ONLY BRAND THAT DOES THIS. I'm sure you've heard of Deva Curl? I'm only writing this review because I wanted to share that THE ONLY SHAMPOO that did not cause my to hair fall out while washing was Innersense Organics. The problem is it's so expensive. But if you look it up on the Think Dirty App, it has the cleanest rating out of all of the curly hair shampoos; And YES it leaves your hair soft and weightless. The only downside is the cost exceeds the quantity.

Too many product refomulations

SheaMoisture has become Unilever as from 2017. Just recently I've bought the Coconut & Hibuscus line at Kruidvat in The Netherlands. This is a legit pharmacy they do not sell counterfit. At home I compared the product labels with the online information on the SheaMoisture website and found the ingredients did not correspond. Some were taken out, others shifted higher or lower on the INCI which has an effect on the product. Checking online I found 5 different formula changes for this line! There's no manufacturing date or expiration date on the bottles I bought, so I cannot tell if I got old stock or new. Anyways when I find a shampoo I like I do not want the ingredients changed for the next 40 years or so. Re-formulating creates a totally different product. Many brands out there who do not do such and have great product formulations. I'd rather throw my money at the competition. So far I find Shea Moisture mediocre ranking compared to other brands, the constant product reformulations being the main reason for that. Also they discontinued a lot of the original SheaMoisture formula's that were loved by many.

Gives moisture to dry hair

I started using the Shea Moisture conditioner paired with the honey hair mask. It has definitely made my hair healtier, and it is sold at a good price for the amount you get, but I do wonder if there's any way they can help with frizzy hair or not. My hair does feel healthier, especially my fry ends, but I expected this to help with how it looks as well. Perhaps there is another product of theirs to try, either way these products are great for people with dry ends like me.

I used to love this brand!

I used to love love love the hair pudding and the problem skin face wash and scrub used to work wonders. Then they changed the formula and it turned into a runny mess that didn't not work. I will never, ever use this brand again.
